Vassar College (/ˈvæsər/vass-ər) is a private, coeducational, human sciences school in the town of Poughkeepsie, New York, in the United States. Established as a ladies' school in 1861 by Matthew Vassar, the school turned into a coeducational organization in 1969. The school offers B.A. degrees in more than 50 majors and elements an adaptable educational modules intended to advance an expansiveness of studies. 

The Vassar grounds contains more than 1,000 sections of land (400 ha) and more than 100 structures, including two National Historic Landmarks and an extra National Historic Place. These structures range in style from Collegiate Gothic to International, composed through the span of the school's history by a scope of conspicuous engineers, including James Renwick Jr., Eero Saarinen, Marcel Breuer, and Cesar Pelli. Vassar's Thompson Memorial Library, outlined by Francis R. Allen, is a Federal Depository Library. The school offers numerous extracurricular associations including understudy theater, a cappella gatherings, club games, volunteer and administration bunches, and a carnival troupe. Vassar College's varsity games groups, known as the Brewers, play in the NCAA's Division III as individuals from the Liberty Lea
