Marquette University/mɑrˈkɛt/is a private, coeducational, Jesuit, Roman Catholic college situated in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Set up as Marquette College on August 28, 1881 by the Society of Jesus, it was established by John Martin Henni, the first Bishop of Milwaukee.
